“Desire” - The Discussion

Listening to “Desire” by The Discussion (solo project of musician Laura Pleasants, formerly of metal band Kylesa) is like being transported back to Austin, Texas in 1988 and dancing into the wee hours at Curfew. Pleasants nails the sound of the ‘80s goth (Siouxie and the Banshees, Dead Can Dance, Clan of Xymox, Strawberry Switchblade, et al) not only on “Desire,” but throughout her entire All the Pretty Flowers LP (released May 23, 2025 via Artoffact Records).
