“Vimeo” - thredd
London trio, thredd, released their first track, “Party,” back in July 2025. Turns out it was the lead single to LP, It’s Lovely, Come On In, an eight-track, 23-minute album of hard-to-label (but mostly electronic) music nuggets. It’s a bit coldwave, a bit minimal wave, a bit indie… something. Sometimes the best albums are just that: hard to peg, but insatiably listenable.
The release of It’s Lovely, Come On In conjures up the same excitement I had when The XX burst onto the U.S. scene back in 2009 when that band did a mini-tour of NYC and I got to see them (mostly by accident) three times in a week. I wouldn’t be surprised if It’s Lovely, Come On In gets Mercury Prize shortlisted. It’s just. that. good.
And, of course, buried in the basement of the album is its final track, “Vimeo,” highlighted here. “Vimeo” is a straight-up JAM. If you dig it, please do listen to the full album. You will not regret it!
